80 Years of Keeping Bruce County
Homes Warm.
We're Just Getting Started.
MILDMAY, ONTARIO · EST. 1940 · THREE GENERATIONS · ONE STANDARD
THE BEGINNING
It Started With a Man Who Knew How to Build Things Right
In 1940, Lee Straus came back from the Military and started a construction company in the heart of Bruce County. Lee set out to build homes where families raised kids, hosted holidays, and stayed warm through Ontario winters that didn't forgive bad workmanship.
Lee had a standard. If you were living in it, or his name was on it, it had to be right. That was it, he never took shortcuts, excuses just craftsmanship that lasted.
He built throughout Mildmay, Walkerton, Formosa, and Hanover. People knew his name because his work spoke for itself long after he'd packed up and moved to the next job.
THE SECOND GENERATION
Everett Picked Up Where Lee Left Off — and Didn't Miss a Step.
When Everett Newton (Lee's son-in-law) took over, he didn't just inherit a business. He inherited Lee's knowledge, Lee's eye for quality, and Lee's reputation for his work in this county.
Everett added his own chapter building more homes, bringing together more communities through Hanover, Mildmay and Walkerton. The same Bruce County families who called Lee started calling Everett. He kept the standard exactly where Lee left it.
Through the years Everett continued to build homes for family’s and people, he slowly moved out of the construction industry and realized the real need was not just building new homes, but making sure the homes already standing could keep families warm, dry, and comfortable for another 30 years. Windows and doors became the focus. And the Newton name became synonymous with getting them done right.
THE THIRD GENERATION
Now It's Korson's Turn. Same County. Same Standard.
Korson Schmidt grew up listening to his parents talk about his Grandfathers work, while driving by houses he had built. They had the opportunity in 2019 to build their family shop alongside his Grandfather where he learned what it means to measure twice, show up on time, and ensure every piece of a building with built with Lee’s standard.
Today Korson works side by side with Everett — three generations of knowledge in every job they take on. When you hire Everett Newton Windows & Doors, you're not getting a sales rep who disappears after the deposit. You're getting the family that has been building and fixing homes in this county for 80 years.
Korson & Everett together handle the quotes, the measurements, the installs, and the follow-up. His number is on every invoice. That's not a marketing line, it's just how they work.

WHAT WE BELIEVE
We Only Carry One Brand. Here's Why.
We've worked with KV Custom Windows & Doors for over 30 years. They manufacture in Ontario. Their windows are Energy Star certified, built for Canadian winters, and backed by a lifetime warranty that transfers to the next homeowner when you sell.
We don't carry six brands and let you figure out which one is good. We carry one — the one we'd put in our own homes.
